This design was inspired by an antique glass that I found in a local shop. It was originally done in hot pink and bright yellow enamel on crystal- very, very beautiful. I created a quick sketch of the pattern and then created the stencil.
My new favorite Benjamin Moore paint color, Covington Blue, was first applied to the bathroom walls and then I printed the pattern in a crisp white. What I also like about this treatment is that it became a decorative molding where previously the walls seemed very plain.
While the stencil was feminine, almost lace-like, the rest of the room will remain clean and somewhat contemporary. I really enjoy combining modern design with traditional elements. It creates a fresh and youthful feeling to a space.]
